The BMC 800m men’s race contained three Chiltern Harriers for the first time. All ran very well for PBs in a large race of 11 talented athletes. U23 Will Perkin was fifth in 1.50.69, and U20s Cameron Reid and Harry Cox were seventh and tenth in big new bests of 1.52.42 and 1.53.22 respectively.
The 800m races also contained a big proportion of PBs.
U13 Lucy Wilkinson made her Watford debut with a big new best of 2.38.18. Fellow U13 Beth Togneri also ran a new best time of 2.48.13.
U13 Marea Logan was on great form to log a new PB of 2.30.41 to be a close second. Further back there were new bests for U13 Alex Hughes in 2.35.85, U15 Hannah Ashby 2.36.09, and U15 Ellie Shield in 2.36.39.
U13 Archie Pinder won Race 3 in a new best of 2.22.24. U13 Callum Powell ran a new best of 2.26.01, U15 Maddie Hughes a new best of 2.27.67 and Ethan McCall was outside his recently set best with 2.38.03.
Euan Pinder (U13) made it a second win of the night for the Pinders in a new best of 2.19.98. U13 Lesedi Nkoane ran a new PB of 2.24.60, and U13 Leon Doran was also in PB form with 2.27.04.
U15 Alice Brown set a great new mark of 2.22.90 and U17 Alicia Bushell was outside her best in 2.26.81.
This was a Chiltern 1-2, with U13 Isaac Jessop-Tranter winning in a new PB of 2.17.05 and U13 Frankie Baxter going second in the national rankings, and 14th on the U13 Girls 800m all-time list with 2.17.42.
Luke Martin (2.19.90), Abbie Henderson (2.19.92) and Holly Henderson (2.21.84) were all a little of their best times in this one.
U17 Matt Clifford ran well for 2.15.38, a little over his best.
U13 Alden Collier continued his record braking season to run a PB of 2.07.30. This is the best time in the UK this year by some margin and also puts Alden seventh on the U13 Boys 800m all-time list.
Alex Aldred ran yet another English Schools qualifying time of 1.56.19 to be second. Fellow U17 Alex Johnson was just behind in fourth with a PB of 1.56.39.
