The U15 Girls have been a powerhouse this season and match 3 saw them again gaining the most points for the team from the four age groups involved.
In the sprints Serena Gueye was third in A string 100m in 12.60 and third in A string 200m in a PB of 26.40, against top level opposition. Chisom Nwafor won the B string 100m in 13.10 and Jemma Thomson B string 200m in 27.8. The sprinters had a strong headwind up the home straight so PBs were hard to come by. In 300m A string Jemma Thomson ran 45.5 to be seventh and Alice Brown was third in B string in a PB 45.6. Mahima Sharma ran non-scoring 100m and combined with Serena, Jemma and Chisom to be third in 4 x 100m relay. The 4 x 300m team of Abbie Henderson, Holly Henderson, Rosa Williams and Ellie Shield ran a season’s best 3.13.0.
There was a Chiltern clean sweep in middle distance. Holly Henderson won 800m A string in 2.20.4 and Alice Brown had a similarly convincing win in B string with 2.25.6. In 1500m Abbie Henderson ran a massive PB to win in 4.51.8 and Maddie Hughes won the B string in an excellent 4.56.4. Holly Henderson did well in A string hurdles (13.5).
In the field Chisom Nwafor won A string long jump with 4.66m and Rosa Williams was sixth in B string with 3.48m. Abbie Henderson was second in high jump with a superb 1.50m, Rosa fourth in B string with 1.25m. Abbie continued her field success with sixth in A string discus (13.18m), Maddie third in B string (13.14m). Chisom won shot with 11.61m and Serena was third in B string (7.39m). Amelia Peck threw a PB of 31.11m to be second in javelin and Ellie Shield threw a PB of 13.32m to be fourth in B string.
Under 15 boys
A depleted boys team managed well with several lads filling slots in unfamiliar disciplines to help the team.
Saajan Jassy ran well in 100m with 12.5 and scored a great 200m PB of 25.6 to be second in B string. Adam Winstanley was fourth in A string 200m in 25.1 and fourth in 300m A string in 40.0. Oakley Denson filled in well in B string 300m with a PB of 45.1. Oakley had previously continued his excellent 800m form with a PB to be second in A string in 2.15.0. Laurie Gawne was sixth in B string with 2.23.7. Thomas Redmond was third in A string 1500m in 4.36.5 and Thomas Askey made a good debut in 1500m to win the B string in 4.43.0.
Noah Hobson ran 15.6 in 80m hurdles and also contributed in A string discus and B string shot. Thomas Askey made his shot debut with 7.24m in A string to be fifth. Oakley Denson and Angus Stoneham both did well in javelin. Angus also ran well in non-scoring 800m. The 4 x 100m team of Saajan, Adam, Noah and Oakley were seventh in 51.8.
Under 13 Girls
Izzy Martin ran 75m and 150m A string. Sophie Habgood ran a PB of 11.30 to be second in 75m B string and Jo Snelling looked after 150m B string after having a good run in A string hurdles. Lesedi Nkoane ran B string hurdles and followed that up with a win in A string 800m (2.30.1). Lucy Wilkinson improved her PB to 2.37.3 to win the B string 800m. Frankie Baxter recently set a YDL age group record in 800m. She followed this up with another in 1200m on Saturday, in a scorching 3.42.6. This puts Frankie second on the U13 Girls 1200m all-time list. Beth Togneri ran a PB to be third in B string with 4.26.4.
In the field Mila Luker and Jo Snelling did long jump, Frankie Baxter and Beth Togneri high jump. Beth threw a javelin PB of 14.23m to be fourth in A string and Sophie Habgood threw 13.96m to be second in B string. Frankie Baxter (6.50m) and Lesedi Nkoane (5.05m) both threw PBs in shot. Izzy, Lucy, Mila and Frankie were eighth in 4 x 100m.
Under 13 Boys
There was another middle distance clean sweep for Chiltern. Alden Collier had an easy win in A string 800m with 2.11.5 and Max Baxter won B string in 2.28.3. Callum Powell (2.32.9) and Alex Hughes (2.37.6) ran well in non-scoring 800m. In a very good 1500m race Isaac Jessop-Tranter won in 4.48.1 and Euan Pinder won B string in 4.50.2. Isaac also ran well in A string 100m and Charlie Ventress looked after B string. Charlie looked after A string 200m, with Archie Pinder running well in B string. Max and George Fotherby ran well in non-scoring 100m. The 4 x 100m team of Alden, Alex, Max and Archie was fifth.
George and Danny Carruthers looked after hurdles. Euan Pinder was second in A string high jump and Ethan McCall was third in B string. Ethan and Alex Hughes looked after long jump. Isaac and Charlie did well in shot and Ethan and Archie did javelin.
